APPLY FOR PROJECT SUPPORT

DEADLINE: JAN 31, 2020

Deadline: January 31, 2020.
Apply online at:  https://bit.ly/2LLsah4

New Works supports artists each year through a variety of services, which include grant writing, administration, graphic design, marketing and promotion, mentorship, consultations and more.

These services are provided at sliding-scale and subsidized rates, with some aspects provided free.

We are launching a new framework for our service to dance makers and companies, and we want to hear from you. If you are an artist or company looking for support services in 2020:

Selection Criteria:

  • This program is open to dance artists. Projects can include interdisciplinary elements.
  • The artist or company must be based in BC.
  • The project submitted must have clear and specific goals and objectives.
  • The project must start March 2020 or after.

We encourage applications from equity-seeking artists who have or are facing systemic barriers that infringe on their artistic career. This includes, but is not limited to, artists who identify as Indigenous, Black, Person of Colour, Trans, Non-binary, Queer, Disabled, low income, and living in the intersections of these identities.

The requests for support will be reviewed by a selection committee in February 2020.

Selected projects will be announced in March 2020.

If you have any questions please contact Joanna Garfinkel at joanna@newworks.ca.

New Works gratefully and respectfully acknowledges that this event takes place on the ancestral, and unceded Indigenous territories of the ʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.
