Dynamic aerial dance and live music combine in the breathtaking performance In Situ.
Unfolding in the concourse of Vancouver's Central Library, dance artists from Aeriosa and the Vertical Orchestra (Redshift Music Society) present spectacular aerial dance and original spatial music throughout the venue at various heights. The audience will be encouraged to flow through the building with the performance eventually ending outdoors in the grandeur of Library Square.

The reigning queen of contemporary dance in Canada, Marie Chouinard, returns with the world premiere of a newly commissioned work. This latest group piece is full of subtle shades of meaning; a study of the delicate ebb and flow of the agitations of the body.
more...With this new commission, Chouinard extends the possibilities of a traditional proscenium theatre and explodes the conventions of ballet and large-scale contemporary dance.
The Golden Mean (Live) will feature live projections mirroring the fluctuations in the music and bodies, developed in collaboration with media artist Luc Courchesne. For the first time, Chouinard will create a vocal score, a gentle opera, to accompany the dance.
