As we enter the month of December, New Works is marking Giving Tuesday by launching a $1,500 fundraising campaign to support our Share Dance program which has been bringing free dance workshops to underserved children and youth since 2014.
In 2019 alone, Share Dance reached over 600 children and youth, providing more than 30 workshops across 7 various schools and organizations. This campaign to raise $1,500 would provide 10 additional workshops in 2021, serving 150 more children and youth. Share Dance also supports the Vancouver area dance artists who lead these workshops.
Your gift of just $10 will support one student participant.
A gift of $30 provides the Share Dance experience for 3 students.
A gift of $150 will support an entire workshop!
Please join our community in supporting young people and Vancouver dance artists by making a tax-deductible gift of any amount to support this program in 2021 and beyond.
Share Dance brings free dance workshops into schools and organizations that support underserved young people in metro Vancouver. New Works runs these workshops at no cost to the schools, after-school care programs, or organization which typically have little or no budget for artistic programming. The workshops come in many styles, including Contemporary Indigenous, Dances from Africa, Hip Hop, Vogue, Latin Dances, and more.COVID-19 update: New Works is working hard with the artist team leaders to fashion effective new modes of delivery to ensure the safe continuity of Share Dance. Pre-recorded and online workshops form the bulk of the current online resources. (As seen in the trailer!)
