DANCE ALLSORTS: South Asian Arts

October 29, 2017

Performance 2pm | Workshop 3:15pm

Roundhouse Community Arts Centre, Vancouver

South Asian Arts has been championing South Asian dance, music, and culture since its formation in 2005 by Gurpreet Sian and Raakhi Sinha. With prestigious dance and music performances ranging from the 2009 Juno Awards to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, South Asian Arts has firmly established themselves as a premier organization successfully promoting the rich, cultural diversity of British Columbian artists to widespread audiences.

Dance Allsorts is New Works’ signature performance and workshop series, and has been introducing “all sorts of dance to all sorts of people” for 20 years. Performances and workshops take place on Sunday afternoons, include after-show Q & As with the artists, and a free workshop following the presentation. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy the performance, connect with the artists, and explore the movements and cultural history of that day’s dance genre. Dance Allsorts provides an accessible and welcoming environment for everyone to experience dance.
