Empower the Future of Dance

Because of donor support, New Works is thrilled to expand our Residency programs.

Help us help more artists by making a Donation before December 31, 2025.

The need for responsive, comprehensive support  for artists in our community continues to grow.

We need your help to respond.

At New Works, we are passionate about empowering dance artists through our Artist Support programs. These initiatives are designed to meet artists where they are and provide opportunities for growth, professional development, and collaboration:

    • Help Desk & Consultation: An open invitation to connect with us for advice, guidance and one-on-one support.
    • Residencies: Creative spaces to take risks without the pressure of production and the opportunity to build community engagement.
    • Cohort Program & In Practice: A chance to delve into professional development alongside peers and mentors.
    • XR Program: Exploring artistic practice through innovative technologies.
    • Mentorship & Management: Foster long-term, collaborative management relationships.

Demand for artist support is at an all-time high. Last season, we received:

  • 45 applications for 2 Residency spots (with your support last season we were able to expand our Residencies to help 3 artists instead of 2!)
  • 23 applications for 10 Cohort spots (with your support last season we were able TO subsidize the entry of 4 artists who found the registration financially inaccessible!)

This growing demand reflects the vital need for programs like ours. However, we are facing significant challenges:

  • Public funding levels have stagnated, limiting our ability to expand or even sustain current offerings.
  • We lack the financial resources to meet this increasing need, let alone introduce new opportunities.

Make a Difference Before December 31

Your donation to the Artist Support Fund directly benefits our programs, allowing us to:

  • Share knowledge, mentorship, and creative opportunities with more artists.
  • Plan for the winter and spring season, when the bulk of our programs take place.

Donate Now to help us sustain and grow these vital programs.

Together, we can continue to be a part of these artists’ stories.

  • I'd like others to know that New Works works hard to help provide and create opportunities for artists in the community to help develop their work and to grow their artistic careers. They're passionate about bringing art to the greater community and engaging new audiences.

  • I think New Works is such a cool organization offering so much support and resources to independent dance artists. As emerging dance artist and choreographers, Mia and I have used New Works resources like the Help Desk for feedback on applications, budgeting, advice, all of which was kindly donated time from New Works staff.

  • I’d like others to know that New Works provides opportunities based on merit, skill, and artistic diversity, not fame or recognition. It’s a truly inclusive platform that welcomes artists from all backgrounds and stages of their careers, offering space to grow, share, and connect through their art

  • New Works is a strong advocate and supporter of emerging dance artists from all cultural backgrounds. They provide ongoing opportunities for development through various programs and have continued to reach out to me year after year which has allowed me as a dance artist to push off to other performing opportunities because their support shows other presenters and partners that I have valuable work that must be shared.

  • “The new familiar faces in the community that New Works connected me with make it easier for me to jump into my career with a newfound sense of courage and warmth. I have confidence knowing that I’ve started familiarizing myself with the behind-the-scenes of the performing arts sector, and carry invaluable advice received from role models in every direction.”

  • The New Works' team are committed, generous, and passionate individuals who want the best for you and the arts. The cohort program created and connected me to other trusting and caring artists. There was an endless abundance of learning and sharing knowledge/experience. I felt heard, seen, and safe during my time with them. I would highly encourage other artists to apply for this program and to not hesitate to reach out to the New Works' team with any questions.
