Artist Call for New Works 2022 Summer/Outdoor Presentation Opportunities

New Works invites expressions of interest from Performing Artists for our Annual Summer Outdoor Performance opportunities on CMHC Granville Island.

Review past Summer Dance and Music presentations h e re. Underrepresented dance and music genres are preferred for thees presentation opportunities.

The following 9 opportunities are available for this Summer:

3 Performances on July 17, 2022 at various outdoor locations

3 Performances on August 14, 2022 at Ron Basford Park Ampitheatre outside Performance Works

3 Performances on September 24, 2022 at Public Market Courtyard

All applications will be reviewed and selected by the New Works Presentation Advisory Committee. For more information about committee, please click the link here: New Works Presentation Advisory Committee.

We welcome artists from outside of the province of British Columbia. We welcome and prioritize applications from equity-owed artists who have or are facing systemic barriers that infringe on their artistic career. This may include artists who identify as IBPOC and/or Trans, Non-binary, Queer, Disabled, low income, and are living in the intersections of these identities. Performance Fees Vary: $1000.00 to $1500.00

Alternative Application Process:

We are accepting video applications (maximum of 10 minutes) through a Youtube or Vimeo link from any artist for whom it is challenging to submit a written application. You do not have to worry about editing or being visible in the video, just make sure that your voice audio is recognizable and that you answer all of the applicable questions below. Please email your video application link to: presentations@newworks.ca before the deadline of February 28th, 2022.

Notification:

Presentation decisions will be announced on April 14, 2022. Please note if invited to participate, complete technical information (i.e. tech rider) and images of artist(s) for promotion must be provided to the New Works team within 2 weeks of notification.
